Buona lettura!

My dear girls, now distances shortened and thanks to internet and social networks we can also make friends with foreign readers and authors. Just for fun and even because almost everyone who follow us have loved this book, we found ourselves talking about Antony Barker by Sylvia Kant also with American authors, therefore, hoping to please you, we amateurishly translated two small excerpts from TRY LOVING ME by SYLVIA KANT for our English-speaking friends! Enjoy your reading!

Title: Prova ad amarmi (Try loving me)
Author: Sylvia Kant
Publisher: Newton Compton Editori
Genre: Erotic Suspence
Language: Italian

Antony Barker is a gigolo of statuesque beauty. He is Rachel Norton's official lover, a cold and unscrupulous woman, head of the largest pharmaceutical company in the United States. But Antony has also many other clients who require his legendary services in the jet set and in the wealthiest èlite in the Big Apple. He has relationships with men and women, and also group activities, but ha doesn't bind and fall in love with anyone. He's cool, professional and his sensuality is second only to his determination. Angela Palmieri, a young Italian girl just landed in New York to work as Rachel's marketing assistant , soon becomes the head's favorite and she'is introduced against his will into a world of luxury, excess and debauchery.

The meeting
The opposite part of the attic never arrives. She stepped on feet, trains, she got tought in hair, in glances of scorn, she hastens with her legs, with her eyes but the eyes, you known, when they're in a hurry, they always gather a detail: a clear jacket in the middle of blue blazers, elegant and sure gestures among hysterical hands, a murderous smile among stereotyped smiles and, for an endless instant, eyes that enter in the eyes, liquefy the brain, burn backs, contract bowel, rise up to the heart, a pair of extrasistoles and it is the end.
The end.
She has seen plenty of beautiful men, but this is really special: a splashy jerk face. Around him there's an orgy of bodies that try to graze him, women and gay's hands on his arms, bandaged in the elegant jacket, on the silky skin of his tanned breast that glimpse under the dark unbuttoned shirt. The other males stay zone as vultures waiting for remains.

She doesn't even realize she stood still, when Susan's lips graze her ear.
"He's a walking-heart-attack man, isn't he?", she whispers.
Everything stopped in her mind, while, stunned, she keeps staring that anxious eyes.
"Who is he?", she spell out with the last thread of her remaining breath in her bellows. "Tell the truth: you'd do him here, in front of all."
"No." Words go out slowly, but firmly. "I could fall in love with him." Her entranced look withdraws instantly. "But someone like him doesn't even see a girl like me."
Her friend's brief laughter arouses her from that kind of trance that unexpectedly overwhelmed her.

"Oh, yes, instead! A big check for three thousand dollars and he' s yours!". She doesn't understand, she doesn't want to understand, but the disappointment is already painted in her eyes. "Do you know whom that diabolic temptation belongs to?", Susan says. "His name's Antony Barker and, let' say, he is Rachel's unofficial lover."  She' d prefer not to know anything else but blondie keeps whispering annoyingly in her ear. "He cannot be defined really her man, because Tony doesn't belong to anybody... He is her black soul." Black soul. What does it mean? "Is he her kept man?". The disappointment overflows from her eyes and starts to spread on her face, while she keeps staring at that carved face.
"Not exactly", Susan beats. "Divorced people, gay, dissatisfied wives are his bread and butter, everything spiced up with all kinds of perversion. Every now and then he organizes particular parties for particular clients: males, females, transsexual... And coke. Coke rivers." She stops an instant and lowers her voice tone. "Rachel is his client number one."
Angela turns and looks at her suddenly, almost irritated by such a gossip. "And how do you know it?"
Susan stares at her with her big blue eyes, suddenly turned serious. Eyes back from hell. "I got ahead thanks to those parties."

Coagulated blood runs in her veins, but she can still murmur with colorless voice: "Did you hit that?"
Blondie slides a voracious look along that gigolo's beautiful body "Not during those parties. Tony fucks just for business. "
"But you hit that" and fails to disguise the envy note she feels emerging from her voice tone, while Susan's image, clenching his narrow hips between her thigs, materializes in front of her, punching her deadly straight in the stomach.
"A few years ago I did something crazy. I sold a diamond ring to fuck him but, believe me, it was worth it. Too bad he does't feel pleasure having sex. Only few people know it, but no sigh comes from those wonderful lips. And he doesn't kiss. Never".
While Susan speaks, she looks at him tilting his head to the side to listen to what a handsome blond young guy has to tell him . In response, the gigolo spreads his sensual lips, revealing perfect teeth. When he smiles, two attractive folds on his mouth corners furrow his face. His fine pianist fingers glide along the boy's back, lingering on his hips. A woman, slim like a reed, approaches to whisper in to his ear, brushing her fingers on his skin that glimpsed from the unbuttoned shirt and he gives just another lethal smile.
"He is charming," she whispers enchanted.
"He's a bitch," Susan sighs. "He gets hot only when he counts his money."
The gigolo, apparently unaware of that exam, keeps talking calm and relaxed in the crowd around him.
"A bitch," Angela whispers, trying to make sense of those words, but only with great effort cannot see him for what he really is. Then he sees her. And stares at her. Insistently. His eyes pierce the soul. Ice-cold eyes. And then she hears him. His tone is dismissive.
"Have you finished?" He says. And he really has it in for her.

Love declaration

"If I told you I' ve never felt for anybody what I feel for you", she heard him whispering. "If I told you, when you' ll leave, my heart and my soul will stop living, as they stop living every time I know you're in bed with someone else. If I told you I am crazy jealous and I' ve suffered hell punishments when you begun your relationship with Glenn. If I told you how much I hated Duncan, tonight, with the sign of your lipstick on his lips. If I told you I 've loved you since the first instant that I' ve seen you and nobody, will never love you, as I love you... Then, would you make love with me?"

L'incontro

«No». Le parole escono fuori lente, ma decise. «Potrei innamorarmene».

E coca. Coca a fiumi».
Occhi tornati dall’inferno. «Ho fatto carriera grazie a quelle feste».
Insistente. Gli occhi dell’uomo bucano l’anima. Occhi freddi come il ghiaccio. E poi lo sente. Il tono della voce è sprezzante.
«Hai finito?», dice.
